From the Executive President

Welcome

Thank you for stopping by. I am Dr. Ransom Akale Sone, Executive President of the Manfred Akale Memorial Foundation.

We set up MAMFO to continue what Late Mr. Manfred Akale Sone started: helping people in Bangem, Kupe-Muanenguba and beyond who need a hand with school, with livelihoods, or with standing up for their rights.

You will find on this site the schools we support, the prizes we give to pupils, and the ways you can join us. We are a small team with a clear purpose, and we mean every promise we make.

Our Vision

A peaceful, democratic and equitable society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and learn.

Our Founder

Remembering Late Mr. Akale Manfred Sone

Manfred Akale Sone was an educationist from Muaku who spent decades in the classroom and in the community. People knew him as someone who showed up when there was a need.

He paid school fees when parents could not. He spoke up for neighbours who had no voice. His own words still guide us: bringing hope to the hopeless and a voice to the voiceless.

When he died, his family and friends did not want his name to fade. They formed MAMFO so that the help he gave privately could continue openly, year after year.

What mattered to him

  • Children should not miss school for lack of fees or books
  • A neighbour in trouble deserves help, not judgment
  • Change in a village starts with ordinary people doing their part
  • Every person, no matter how poor, deserves respect

That is the man behind this foundation. Every notebook we hand out, every computer we deliver to a school, every visit to a village is done in his name.

Bringing hope to the hopeless and a voice to the voiceless

Project

Bringing computers to a school that had none

In one of our proudest moments, MAMFO delivered a full set of computers to Government Primary School (GPS), Muaku, giving dozens of children their very first taste of the digital world. Muaku is the home village of Late Manfred Akale Sone, the educationist whose legacy the foundation was built to honour.

  1. 1

    Listening first

We visited Government Primary School, Muaku, and learned that pupils had never used a computer.

  2. 2

    Equipping the classroom

MAMFO donated a set of complete computer workstations: monitors, towers, keyboards and accessories.

  3. 3

    A new beginning

Teachers and children celebrated a future where digital skills are finally within reach.
